SCUM is the only game that has these issues for me out of 100+ games in my steam library, some with much higher minimum specs than SCUM. It is a desktop pc, and I know I am not affected by malware. I assume its related to the game populating loot in containers as you look to them, as I dont have these issues out in the woods or far away from towns. This issue persists between servers, as ive tried playing on other servers to test this issue and see if it was related to the server I was playing on and gotten similar results. The only workaround I have been able to find is just playing within an hour of a restart of the server, which is unacceptable for me personally. SCUM is the only game I can think of where I have issues of this magnitude, regardless of in game settings. Neither drives are close to full and are still running properly. I have plenty of space on my drives, SCUM is installed on a secondary HDD with my OS on an SSD. When I am having issues, generally when looking just in one direction, not moving, my frame rate is somewhat stable around 40-50fps, but when turning my head or moving, the frame rate tanks, even indoors. Judging by how I can run the game smoothly anywhere on the map soon after a server restart, I have to assume it relates to data building up on the server. My machine is also liquid cooled, generally around 25-30c. Generally when gaming all I have running in the background is steam, maybe firefox and discord. My machine far exceeds the minimum specs for the game and still runs on a level that is unacceptable to enjoy. Unless you have a very expensive machine and high speed internet, this game is going to run terribly for you. So take this as a warning to anyone thinking of buying this game in its present state. Easily 20+ reports have fallen on deaf ears. Ive tried reporting this issue in the official discord and have been ignored many times. And they keep adding more large towns which run absolutely terribly and making the performance tank more and more instead of addressing the massive optimization issues present in the game. The lag can cause falling through the map and DEATH, destroyed vehicles from them dropping through the map when passing near towns (which I do my best to avoid unless a restart was VERY recent) and losing the pathetic scraps of loot I can manage to scrape together with being essentially barred from looting 90% of the good spots on the map. I usually would play the game on around medium settings, but set them to low to see if it would help, which it didnt. It resembles the memory leak from the early days involving the game populating loot. The only time I can enter towns and loot is VERY soon after a server restart, and this only lasts maybe an hour before the problem is right back to being game breaking. I can play on a stable 60 frames outside and far away from towns, then when I enter towns, my frame rate drops to 1-2fps or less, to the point where the server will kick me. The map is unfortunately not yet interactive (as one or the other may know of some other survival games), however, the loot map is in a very high resolution, so you can see the individual position and locations very well and find in the game can.Ive been playing since the first build, and performance has been steadily getting worse and worse the more time goes on. Incidentally, not only the bunkers in SCUM are marked on the map, but also other good spots to loot, which is very helpful as a beginner in the survival game as a guide. In most cases, you can easily get past the ‘Mechs and go in search of loot in the bunker. The bunkers are usually defended by two ‘Mechs and there are often a lot of zombies waiting in them. In the bunkers you will find in most cases very good loot such as weapons, ammunition, equipment, special clothing and much more. The bunkers are marked on the linked map with a yellow dot. The user SuspectLive has drawn the best loot spots on it and of course this includes the bunkers. On Reddit a thread with a loot map has recently appeared, which we can only recommend to any SCUM player. In the beginning you usually come across the bunkers rather randomly, so that the question arises more often, at which positions can bunkers be found in SCUM and is there a map with the exact locations? In the game there are some bunkers that offer quite good loot, at least in the current version. As with any survival game, SCUM will sooner or later need weapons and other equipment to protect against or hunt down other players. Where can you find the bunkers in SCUM? Is there a map somewhere where the locations of the bunkers in SCUM are located? The survival game SCUM enjoys a great deal of popularity just a week after the release and offers a lot to survival fans.
